Series descriptions: The massacred corpses of two girls were found in a forest near Warsaw. The investigation is sluggish, it wades into dead ends, the trail is constantly lost … to find a solution in the final episode. Fast action and surprising solutions; themes and problems touching society: banality of crime, nonsense and randomness of death, lack of moral criteria in everyday life. The two policemen Piotr (Pazura) and Smuga (Boom) are the two main characters of the series. They have completely different characters and they fight each other all the time and yet they try to fit in. For Smuga, work in the police is the only raison d’être, a service to society, but also a curse, a constant penance for a mistake. His case was covered up, but he was forced to look through his fingers at his corrupt colleagues. He has trouble seeing, and admitting it would mean the end of his career. He transfers his frustration to criminals as if he was taking revenge for a lost life. Brutality extracts information from suspects. Hence its effectiveness to a large extent. He has two years until his retirement, and he would like to wait it out. He keeps Piotr at a distance, because he always works alone, moreover, Piotr is a rookie who irritates him with enthusiasm and idealism. Piotr does not accept brutal methods, but he is influenced by Smuga and is unable to oppose. Piotr’s professional problems affect his personal life. The sensational plot, the investigation conducted by the heroes, is an equal thread to the drama of attitudes and moral reasons. The creators of the series show aggression among young people for whom committing a crime is an initiation; they try to answer the question why they join satanic groups and religious sects, investigate child pornography and prostitution, and in this deluge of crimes show the helplessness of the justice system. How far can you go in bending the law – in the name of its effectiveness? Where are the limits of professional loyalty and friendship? Can you stay clean while fighting evil?
